This month the topic is choices.  In my conversations with people, I have found that some people don't realize they have a choice about what happens in their life.  Many times, they feel trapped, without options which is rarely the case. So together let's explore some of the things people choose.  This week is about intentionally choosing health and wellness.

 Quote

"If you don't make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness" ---Anon

That quote really speaks to phrases like "I don't have time to exercise" or "I'll just go to the drive-through and pick something up".  Drive-throughs that have healthy food are very rare.  You know you can get away with poor eating choices or lack of exercise but only for a while.  Just for a moment let's think about your heart.  Your heart is about the size of your fist and if it was beating at a rate of 70 beats per minute it would be pumping blood through your body 36,792,000 times per year (that's at only 70 beats per minute).

Today's Coaching Challenge

Really take time to think about how amazing your body is.  It performs a multitude of functions simultaneously on autopilot.  Now think of how you treat that body of yours.  Would you fill a Lamborghini with syrup instead of premium gasoline and would you let it stand in the garage for weeks on end without taking it out on the road?

I hope you wouldn't, however, your body is infinitely more complex and valuable than an exotic car.  Yet we frequently don't pay much attention to it and make poor choices as to how we treat and nurture it.

Action to take

Unless you are an extreme athlete and in phenomenal shape think of one thing you can choose today to start taking better care of your body and health.  Even choosing to get off the couch and walk around the house is a small improvement.  Remember you can choose to have better health with every bite of food or step you take.
